It started in 1980 as a two-day jousting festival in the Mount Hope winery parking lot; now it's a 35-acre Tudor village that takes over weekends from mid-August through late October. This year's run goes August 15 through October 25, with themed weekends stacked across the season and fifteen stages going at once. Turkey legs and costumed knights, sure β but the grown-up move is the Swashbuckler Brewing Company, on the grounds since 2000, plus the estate's wine and mead. Mount Hope also pours Rumspringa Brewing and Lancaster County Cider at pourhouses around the village, and there's a pub crawl if you want the guided version. Drink like it's 1590.
