Drinking at a resort restaurant usually means you’ve given up on the night, but Avenue Ale House and Pizza Loft actually pulls its own weight. Parked right on the Heritage Hills Resort grounds at 2700 Mount Rose Avenue, this two-level setup is slinging proper stone-fired pizzas and massive burgers to a crowd that knows better than to fight downtown traffic. Slide in between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM any day of the week to absolutely pillage their happy hour, knocking down half-price drafts from their 30 taps. Grab a stool on the outdoor patio, order a heavy pour, and let the locals show the hotel guests how a proper night out actually works.
