Where
Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse
Zoetropolis — the indie cinema, distillery, and bar rolled into one on North Water Street — trades its screens for a dance floor once a month when The Cosmic Honky Tonk rolls through. This homegrown 6-piece, born out of the warehouse jam sessions at The Upside, blends traditional honky-tonk with a cosmic, often psychedelic twist and a healthy dose of rock 'n' roll — Cory Paternoster leading a lineup that pulls players from What Would Jerry Do?, Clifton Bryan Band, Nielsen Family Band, and Danny & the Do Overs. Expect a set list running through Neil Young, Gram Parsons, the Stones, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Sturgill Simpson, plus a cosmic-country DJ filling the gaps and themed drinks from the bar. Western wear is encouraged, doors open at 6:30, and it's a proper honky-tonk hang in a room built for people who take both their movies and their music seriously.
