Shadowland at Zoetropolis

Once a month, Zoetropolis's screening room turns into Lancaster's home for goths, ravers, and everyone in between: Shadowland, DJ Stygian's dark-alternative dance ritual, now 14 editions deep. This round goes Cyberpunk Beach Party, bringing back last year's fan-favorite theme with guest DJ 9ami (Team Goody Productions) co-summoning the night's sound — expect darkwave, EBM, goth, industrial, dark/alt pop, electro, phonk, post-punk, synthwave, and plenty in between. Dance performers Nebula Nova and Legs Akimbo work the floor while photographer Charlie Grae documents the chaos. It's queer- and trans-owned since 2023, built on a clear code of respect for dancers, bartenders, and each other, and it's exactly the kind of after-dark programming that makes this North Water Street cinema-distillery-bar feel like more than just a movie house. Bring cash to tip your dancers and bartenders; free street parking, with the $5 Water Street garage a block away.
