Where
The King George Speakeasy
There's really no one else on the York live-music circuit doing what Jake Matthew Rivers does — a cellist and singer-songwriter who builds full arrangements live, in real time, out of cello, voice, and a loop station, then folds rock, blues, and classical influences into whatever comes out. He's become one of The King George's regular monthly acts for exactly that reason: this is a room that rewards performers who don't sound like anyone else on the calendar. Post-Thanksgiving weekend, settle into the 30-seat velvet-draped lounge beneath Tutoni's with a handcrafted cocktail and watch a single musician build a genuinely layered sound out of instruments you don't usually see paired together. 21+, no cover, 8 to 10 PM.
